LEWISTON – Trailing 9-0 before batting in the fourth inning Gayton Post rallied for a 11-9 victory over Smith-Tobey in American Legion baseball actionTuesday night.
Gayton managed only four hits on the night, but, took advantage of numerous walks and fielder’s choice hits to squeak out the victory. Luke Potter hit a two run double for Gayton (4-7) .
Marshall Chick had 2 RBI for Smith-Tobey (8-5).
Monmouth 3, Knox County 2
MONMOUTH- Justin Plourde pitched a four-hitter to lead Monmouth to a 3-2 victory over Knox County Tuesday night.
Brian Bisson hit a two-out double to knock in the eventual winning run in the second inning.
Sean Holbrook had an RBI single for Monmouth. Plourde struck out six and walked only three in the complete game performance.
