JAY – Selectmen will hear a presentation today on options for dividing up 32 acres of town-owned land that is in a state economic development zone.
Selectmen Chairman Bill Harlow also plans to give an update on the status of access to Parker Pond in East Jay, said Town Manager Ruth Marden on Thursday.
A private road was posted last year to prohibit people from traveling over the road to the pond unless they obtained written permission or own land on the road, or unless they have an easement as the Livermore Falls Water District does. The pond is a source of drinking water for residents in Jay and Livermore Falls.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. today in the Community Building. It will start with a presentation by Darryl Brown, of Main-Land Development in Livermore Falls, who had been asked to draw up some options for the town’s land near the Jay Plaza, Marden said.
The land is in a state Pine Tree Zone, which offers economic development incentives to eligible businesses that locate there.
