LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine will offer a three-week kayaking safety course beginning Wednesday, July 27.

The course will cover a wide variety of topics, including equipment, learning the boat, paddling skills, entering the boat, signals, rules of the water and rescues and rolls.

The course will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays. Participants are required to bring their own kayak, paddle and personal floatation device. Participants must be at least 10 years old.

Participants do not need to be members of the YWCA. The cost of the course is $60 for YWCA members and $80 for non-members.
