PORTLAND, Maine (AP) – Ryan Fleming went 4 for 5 with an RBI double, pacing a 16-hit attack as the Reading Phillies handed the Portland Sea Dogs their sixth straight loss 12-7 Wednesday. The Phillies swept the three-game series and have now won four straight.

Jesus Merchan, Juan Richardson, Jim Deschaine and Brian Hitchcox also doubled for Reading; Hitchcox had three RBI.

Brandon Moss belted a two-run homer in Portland’s loss.

The Phillies (48-50) were aided by three Portland errors and other defensive gaffes.

The teams were tied 5-5 after six innings. But costly errors fueled Reading’s four-run outburst in the seventh and three-run spree in the eighth.

With the Sea Dogs (48-46) trailing 12-5 in the ninth, Moss’ homer made it 12-7.
