OXFORD – The Thompson Lake Environmental Association is sponsoring the second annual I-Did-A-Paddle on Saturday, Aug. 13, on Thompson Lake. All boating enthusiasts are invited to paddle/row/sail the length of Thompson Lake (approximately nine miles) beginning at 9 a.m. at the Thompson Lake Marina in Casco.
No motorized boats are permitted. The event will end at Pismo Beach in Oxford with a barbecue luncheon. Cost is $5 for lunch, and everyone who wants an event T-shirt needs to order one before Aug. 7 by contacting the association office at 539-4535. Proceeds from support education activities on the lake.
Event organizers Sharon Rice and Jane Fahey are looking for a big crowd this year. Last year’s event saw close to 30 people brave the winds to finish the event. For more information, contact Rice at 998-2088.
