MEXICO – Mexico Public Library will host an American Girl Tea party for girls ages 6 and older at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the Calvin Lyons Hall next door to the library.

Those attending will meet Molly, American Girl, and travel back in time with her to 1944. Girls will work on a craft and play games from that era. Snacks will be served. RSVPs are encouraged. For more information, call the library at 364-3281 or inquire at the Circulation Desk.

The library will host a “Wild Things” costume party on Tuesday, Aug. 16, to conclude its “Rock and Roll: Go Where the Wild Things Are” summer reading program.

All kids, ages 2 and up, are invited to attend dressed in any type of “Wild Thing” costume. The party will begin at 10 a.m. at the Calvin Lyons Hall.

Activities will include costume judging and prizes, games, contests and play-acting. Certificates and prizes for summer reading will be given to those who participated in the program. At the conclusion of the party, a pizza and soda lunch will be served.
