TEMPLE – W.A. Mitchell Fine Furniture of Temple has made a gift of Maine-made hardwood furniture to the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice hospice house in Auburn. The handcrafted furniture will be featured throughout the facility, including in the dining, living, conference and media rooms, sanctuary, children’s play area, quiet rooms and in each patient suite.

“We are humbled by this very generous gift. It is especially meaningful because it is handcrafted right here in western Maine,” said Paul Soucie, agency board chairman.

Soucie continued, “From the beginning, the goal was to design the hospice house to have a home-like look and feel. Having handcrafted furniture from W.A. Mitchell throughout the facility will certainly make that happen.”

The hospice house, located on Stetson Road in Auburn, is specially designed to care for patients in the weeks of life when hospice care at home is no longer possible. AHCH will welcome the first hospice house patient Nov. 1.
