GRAY – The Sam L. Cohen Foundation recently awarded a grant for $30,000 to Opportunity Farm to provide scholarships for the boys and girls who live at Opportunity Farm for Boys and Girls.

“We are grateful for this grant from the Cohen Foundation,” says Ron Scott, president of Opportunity Farm. “The foundation’s mission aligns closely with Opportunity Farm’s program, we are pleased to enter into this partnership with this great organization.”

Opportunity Farm has offered at-risk children, from across Maine, safe and supportive family style home environment for nearly 100 years. The staff provides the tools that will help the boys and girls who live at the farm get on a path to success and develop into fine young adults.

The Sam L. Cohen Foundation strives to ensure that all people have the opportunity to develop their potential and provide healthy, productive futures for themselves, their families and their communities. “We are proud to support Opportunity Farm’s efforts to help all of the boys and girls who live there learn the skills that will help them create stable, productive lives,” says Jerry Goldberg, chairman of the board for the Cohen Foundation. “Opportunity Farm is a perfect example of the great organizations in our own state who are helping kids and their families everyday.”
