WILTON – Franklin Grange 50 has been busy working on various community service projects along with getting ready for the Farmington and Fryeburg fairs.
Farmington Fair will run from Sept. 18 to 24 and Fryeburg Fair, the last one of the season, will be from Oct. 2 to 9.
The grange schedule for this year will be different, as each month a member will be responsible for the lecturer’s portion of the program. The dates and schedule will be available in September.
Best wishes have been to sent to members Eva Jewell, who is undergoing chemotherapy, and Hazel Flagg, who is recuperating from a broken foot.
Franklin Grange recently received a certificate from National Grange in Washington, D.C., in recognition of participation in Grange Month. The certificate, a thank-you, was for “dedication to preserving the Grange and promoting its good deeds. Because of your commitment to community service and legislative action, you have made your community a better place to work, live and play.” It was signed by National Master William Steel.
Everyone will meet at the Flagg home on Depot Street by 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, to travel to Lewiston to present Earl and Tippy Tracy with their 25-year awards for continuous membership.
