DENVER (AP) – Danny Ardoin hit a tiebreaking two-run homer, Byung-Hyun Kim won for the first time in seven starts, and the Colorado Rockies completed a doubleheader sweep of the Florida Marlins on Monday with a 5-3 victory in Game 2.

Ardoin broke a 3-all tie in the sixth with his third home run of the year. Ryan Shealy went 3-for-3 and drove in a run in Game 2 and was 5-for-8 with two RBIs in the doubleheader.

Kim (3-8) allowed three runs and five hits in six innings to win for the first time since June 24. Brian Fuentes pitched the ninth for his 18th save in 20 chances.

Alex Gonzalez drove in three runs for the Marlins, who fell three games behind idle Houston in the NL wild-card race.

Ismael Valdez (1-1), who was 3-0 in his previous three starts against Colorado, allowed five runs and 10 hits in six innings.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Sunny Kim and Byung-Hyun Kim became the first players with the same last name to start each end of a doubleheader since brothers Gaylord and Jim Perry did it for Cleveland on June 22, 1974, at Boston.

The Marlins took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Gonzalez’s sacrifice fly. Shealy doubled and scored in the second, then drove in a run in the third. Garrett Atkins had an RBI single to make it 3-1 in the fifth.

Florida tied it at 3 with a two-run double by Gonzalez in the sixth inning.

In the first game, Dustan Mohr homered with two outs in the 11th inning to give the Rockies a 4-3 victory.

“We had been looking for that big hit, big swing for quite some time,” Rockies manager Clint Hurdle said. “I was looking for that at-bat since the fourth inning.”

The Rockies stranded 10 runners after the fourth, including leaving the bases loaded in the 10th.

Sunny Kim allowed two runs and five hits in the four innings in his first start since the Rockies claimed him off waivers from Washington.

Mohr struck out in his first two at-bats before connecting on an 0-2 pitch off Valerio De Los Santos (1-1). Scott Dohman (1-1) pitched two scoreless innings to earn his first major league win.

The doubleheader was scheduled to make up games postponed by rain and snow April 27-28.

Chris Aguila had two hits and Matt Treanor drove in two runs for the Marlins.

Josh Beckett threw 110 pitches in six innings, allowing two runs and seven hits. He struck out three, walked two and hit a batter.

“If you don’t want the bullpen to give up anything then you have to go nine innings,” Beckett said.

Florida took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on two-out singles by Aguila and Gonzalez, and Treanor’s double to left-center.

Two-out RBI singles by Shealy and Cory Sullivan tied it at 2 in the fourth.

Jeff Conine drew a leadoff walk off Marcos Carvajal in the sixth inning, stole second and moved to third on Mike Lowell’s bloop single to right. He scored when Aguila hustled to beat the relay throw on a double-play groundball.

Ardoin’s one-out squeeze bunt in the eighth scored Sullivan and tied it at 3. Ron Villone’s three-base throwing error on Sullivan’s bunt set up the play.
