LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine began swim lesson registration for the fall session on Aug. 10, for YWCA members and will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 24, for the public.

Swim lessons are offered Monday through Thursday and Saturday mornings. Classes are available for all abilities and ages, 6 months to adult. Classes may be a half hour or an hour, depending on level.

Classes will begin on Sept. 10 and run for six or seven weeks. The cost is $55 for six weeks and $60 for seven weeks.

Participants must be members of the YWCA, which is good for a year and includes free membership swims and other discounted program fees. YWCA membership fees are: child (up to age 12), $30; youth (13 to 17), $40; adult (18 to 59) $55; senior citizens (60+), $45.

Private swim lessons are available by appointment. The cost is $25 per half-hour session. Participants must be members of the YWCA. To book a private lesson, call the YWCA.

Adult swim lessons will be offered from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Fridays for six weeks. The cost is $75. Participants must be members of the YWCA.
