LEWISTON – Upcoming activities at the Lewiston Farmers’ Market include:

Monday, Aug. 15, free face-painting.

Every Monday, buy $5 worth of veggies or baked goods and receive a free Lewiston Farmers’ Market tote bag.

The market is open from 2 to 6 p.m. every Monday in Kennedy Park. Food stamps and WIC coupons are accepted.

Share day

AUBURN – The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society will host Shelter Share Day for the Maine Federation of Humane Societies on Wednesday, Aug. 17.

To accommodate the visiting colleagues, the Humane Society will adjust its normal operating hours. It will be open to the public from 2 to 5 p.m.

The society is located at 3312 Hotel Road. Anyone interested in learning more about what kinds of donations the shelter needs, volunteering or adopting an animal should call 783-2311 or visit the Web at www.gahumane.org.

Rotary meeting

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club will celebrate the previous year’s work of raising funds by distributing grant awards to various local nonprofits at noon Thursday, Aug. 18, at the Ramada Inn on Pleasant Street.

Anyone wishing to attend to observe the program or to learn more about Rotary is welcome. Weekly buffet luncheons are $8 a person.
