MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Kason Gabbard scattered six hits over 5 2-3 innings and David Murphy hit an RBI single in the sixth inning to give the Portland Sea Dogs a 1-0 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Saturday night.

Murphy’s single with two outs in the sixth scored Hanley Ramirez as Portland beat New Hampshire for the 10th consecutive time this season.

Gabbard (9-10) struck out four, while Portland relief pitching limited the Fisher Cats to two hits over the final four innings.

Ismael Ramirez (7-13) took the loss, allowing the only run of the game and four hits over 5 2-3 innings. He struck out four.

New Hampshire threatened to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth when Ron Davenport led off with a double and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt.

But Portland’s Jim Mann got Curtis Thigpen to ground out and then struck out Chip Cannon to earn his ninth save.

Davenport and Ron Acuna had two hits for the Fisher Cats. Scott Youngbauer added two hits for Portland.
