LEWISTON – Advocates for Children will host a viewing and discussion of the award-winning movie, “John,” by James and Joyce Robertson, on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

The film focuses on separation and the very young, providing insight into the damage of detachment and the motivation for creating healthy attachment with children.

The free workshop, “A Workshop on Separation: Lessons I Have Learned – Sowing Seeds of Empathy,” will be facilitated by Koko Preston, MA, of Rockland. Preston teaches positive and preventive parenting education.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at Advocates for Children, located in the B Street Community Center, 57 Birch St., Suite 204.

Advocates for Children is a participating United Way agency and a recipient of a Lewiston Community Development Block Grant.
