LEWISTON – Persons desiring to run for the office of district supervisor for the Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District should contact the office at 254 Goddard Road, PO Box 1938, Lewiston, ME 04241 or call 753-9400 ext. 3 to obtain nomination papers.

The district has one supervisor position to be filled for a three-year term. Nomination papers must be received at the office no later than Sept. 19. Any person who wants to run for the office must be a registered resident voter within the boundaries of the Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District (Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties).

All registered voters in the district are eligible to vote in the election. Ballots are to be mailed to all cooperators around Oct. 10. Other registered voters wishing to vote must contact the district in order to receive a ballot.

All ballots will need to be received in the office by noon and will be counted before the end of the day on Nov. 17. Additional information may be obtained by contacting District Election Superintendent Jane Heikkinen, at 753-9400, ext. 400.
