LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met Monday, Sept. 12, at Murray Hall with 40 members present. Prior to the meeting, a casserole meal was served with other food supplied by members.

Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with a moment of silence for departed members and the men and women in the Armed Forces.

Mary Groleau was reported ill and Ernie Bickford volunteered to lead the group in singing when he is present. Couture said she would ask members to come forward and assist with the singing.

Members on the sick list include Shirley Toncer, Blanche Bilodeau and Groleau and prayers were extended for them. The group welcomed back Lorette Chabot, Theresa Bilodeau and Lucile Frechette. Cards of thanks from Eugene Pomerleau and the family of Linda Henry were read.

Couture said that she had received a letter from Amy MacMillian, who said she would attend Monday, Sept. 19, to speak about the new prescription drug program. The meeting is open to the public. A representative from Pine Tree Planning will speak at a later date on the prescription drug plans.

Next week will be the last time to sign up for the SeniorsPlus meal that will consist of baked fish, potato wedges, spinach, dinner roll and cake.

The 50-50 was won by Gloria Bickford. The meeting was adjourned and cards were played.
