BRIDGTON – Bridgton Academy alumni traditionally gather the Tuesday after Labor Day for a picnic on the shore of Crystal Lake in Harrison. Begun in 1983 by Celia Tarbox Ballard ’30, alumni celebrated the 22nd year recently.

This year, 25 alumni and friends of Bridgton Academy attended. Alumni in attendance included: from Harrison, Barbara Lord Dalgaard ’48, Madelyn Buck ’37, Orpha Sias Davis ’21, Richard Davis ’47 and Margaret Buck Caswell ’44.

From Bridgton: Martha Flint ’52; Naples: Edward Webber ’32, Ruth Pitts ’32 and Olive Knight Shane ’48; Waterford: Elizabeth Millett Maxfield ’30, Virginia Gammon Knight ’49, Happy Hamlin Chapman ’48, Marion Jackson Chase ’49 and David Marston ’53.

Others in attendance were Ruby Chapman Whitney ’34, Casco; Patricia Holt-Buck ’50, East Stoneham; Norma Relihan Doody ’42, Westbrook; Cheryl Harmon, Wayne Bennett, Shirley Davis, Jim Dalgaard and Perry Chapman.

Attending from Bridgton Academy were Headmaster David Hursty; Patrick Tevlin, director of development; Tom Austin, assistant director of development; and Cyndy Hursty, director of alumni and communications.
