LEWISTON – Healthy Androscoggin, Project Unite! members, Auburn, Lewiston and Lisbon police departments, Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department and Maine State Police would like to hear from anyone who knows of an underage drinking party in their neighborhood, suspicion of drug-related activities or someone over 21 furnishing alcohol to youth in Androscoggin County.

“Many times parents and youth hear or see illegal activities, but are not sure how to respond. They don’t want to be the rat’ and they may be afraid of retaliation. They need to be empowered to make the phone call.

“By making the phone call, concerned parents and youth will help to reduce the presence of illegal substance use in our community,” said Captain Ray Lafrance of the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department.

“The silence isn’t worth the harm it will cause to a young person,” said Scott Gosselin of the Maine State Police. ” Law enforcement needs your help to deter these harmful and illegal activities that can have detrimental consequences and prevent our youth in reaching their full potential.”
