FARMINGTON – Alyson Webster notched the game’s lone goal in overtime to give Mt. Blue a 1-0 triumph over Oxford Hills in KVAC field hockey action Thursday afternoon.
Webster picked up the ball off a pass from Alyssa St. Pierre, and knocked it in 7:25 into the overtime. The Cougars (5-2) held the advantage throughout the contest, outshooting the Vikings (3-4), 14-5.
Ashley Lewia turned aside five shots to preserve the shutout.
EL 2, Lawrence 1
AUBURN – Katelyn Perkins and Amanda Burgess both tallied goals Thursday to propel Edward Little to a 2-1 victory over Lawrence.
Perkins put the Red Eddies (2-5) on the board nine minutes into the game with assists from Allison Forgues and Breanna Wing. Burgess converted a pass from Forgues just four minutes later to make it 2-0.
Mary Martin made 14 saves in net for EL, while Kasey McPhail turned away 12 shots for Lawrence (3-5).
Morse 4, Lewiston 3 (OT)
LEWISTON – Catrina Damrell scored on a breakaway 1:30 into overtime Thursday to lift Morse to a 4-3 victory over Lewiston.
Jordann Bessey scored a pair of goals for the Blues Devils (0-7), while Sarah Clark also scored.
Lewiston stepped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half, extended it to a 2-0 advantage early in the second, before Morse rallied.
Leavitt 5, Erskine 1
SOUTH CHINA – Tiffany Poland and Heidi Swett each notched a goal and an assist as Leavitt rolled past Erskine Academy 5-1.
Kaela Jalbert, Lauren Doiron, and Alexandra Naylor each added a goal to the Hornets (6-1) win. Kristin Schrepper and Jessica Vickerson split net-minding duties, combining for fives saves.
Soccer
Lisbon 7, Carrabec 0
LISBON – Soleil Mathieu recorded a hat trick Thursday to lead Lisbon to a 7-0 romp over Carrabec in MVC girls’ soccer action.
Vickie Osmond, Saige Purser, Colleen Weddle and Rachelle Henry also scored for the Greyhounds (5-2-1). Sam Purcell needed only two saves to preserve the shutout.
Amy Campbell handled netkeeping duties for the Cobras (0-5-1), turning back 19 shots.
Mt. Blue 3, Nokomis 0
FARMINGTON – Stephanie Smith netted a pair of goals Thursday to lead Mt. Blue to a 3-0 shutout over Nokomis.
Xena Colby also tallied for the Cougars (3-2-2). Caitlin Scott made five saves for the shutout.
Rosselin Peterson handled netkeeping duties for Warriors (1-7), turning away 13 shots.
Winthrop 3, Madison 0
WINTHROP – Melissa Nguyen led a trio of players to record goals as Winthrop rolled to a 3-0 victory over Madison.
Alie Dick and Jamie Pacheco also tallied for the Ramblers (4-2-1). Katie Pushard needed just three saves to preserve the shutout.
Goalie Ashley Marandola recorded 13 saves for the Bulldogs (2-5).
Mt. Abram 2, Wiscasset 1
WISCASSET – Logahn Walker tallied a pair of goals in a span of 1:09 to give Mt. Abram the boost it needed over Wiscasset in a 2-1 victory Thursday.
Foxfire Buck gave Wiscasset (3-2-1) a 1-0 lead with 25:11 left. Walker then took command for the Roadrunners (6-1-1) with her two goals, both assisted by Emma Coffin.
Briana Wilkins made four saves for the Mt. Abram win, while Megen Foye turned aside 10 shots for Wiscasset.
C. Elizabeth 6, Gray-NG 0
GRAY – Dana Riker and Alice Evans each netted a goal and was credited with two assists as Cape Elizabeth posted a 6-0 victory over Gray-New Gloucester.
Lisa Wolanski added a goal and an assist, while Helen Evans, Caitlin Smith and Kathy Wise each chipped in with a goal for the Capers win.
