DIXFIELD – No one was hurt and little damage was sustained when a 60-passenger SAD 21 bus collided with a Chrysler van Monday afternoon shortly after school let out.

Robin Morrison of Dixfield, no age available, had stopped her 1996 van at the Nash Street stop sign as she was waiting to enter Weld Street.

The SAD 21 bus, driven by Franz Luce, hit Morrison’s van in the rear, causing about $1,000 damage to the back tailgate, Dixfield Police Chief Richard Pickett said.

The bus sustained no damage and was given the go-ahead to continue transporting students home, said SAD 21 Superintendent Tom Ward said Monday.

About 60 students were on the bus when the accident happened at 2:20 p.m.

Pickett said the cause of the accident is under investigation.
