GREENE – A surprise party was held recently for Robert and Sheila Martel of Greene on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary.
Party hosts were their sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jackie Martel, Scott and Kim Martel, and Steve and Autumn Martel. The event was held at the American Legion Hall in Lisbon, which was decorated with many balloons.
Mr. Martel and the former Sheila Russell were married on July 28, 1965, in Auburn. Along with their children, their grandchildren are Cody, Jared, Kassandra, Hunter, Trevor, Joshua and Paige.
Mrs. Martel is a volunteer coordinator at Greene Central School and is employed at Martel Catering and Landscaping.
Mr. Martel is employed at Maine Poly in Greene and at Martel Catering and Landscaping.
