Church service

STONEHAM – The Rev. George Frobig reminds parishioners of the Oxford County United Parish Churches in Stoneham and North Waterford that services will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 16, 23 and 30 at the Stoneham Congregational Church, Maine Street and Route 5. Services will return to the North Waterford Congregational Church, Routes 37 and 37, for November and will remain there through the winter.

The public is also invited to a harvest supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the North Waterford Church Vetsry. The menu will feature corned beef and cabbage and homemade pies. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.

Warden to speak

WEST PARIS – The West Paris Historical Society will meet for a 6 p.m. potluck supper and meeting on Monday, Oct. 17. Guest speaker will be Sgt. Norman Lewis of the Maine Game Warden Service.

Anyone interested in learning more about the society can make a potluck dish and come in around 5:30 p.m. or call Betty Jones at 674-2507 or David Ring at 743-6733 for more information.

Chinese auction

WEST PARIS – Tri-Town Rescue and the West Paris Old Home Days are having a Chinese auction at the Agnes Gray School Gym starting at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6. Drawings start at 1 p.m. Light refreshments will be available. Sale items, crafts and gift certificates are needed. For more information call Nancy Henderson at 674-2936 or Betty Jones at 674-2507. Items will be picked up.
