ST. PAUL, Minn. – Manny Fernandez made 34 saves and the Minnesota Wild scored five goals in the third period in a 6-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night.

Derek Boogaard’s first NHL goal put the Wild ahead for good early in the third.

Marc Chouinard, Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Jason White and Filip Kuba then scored for the Wild in their second straight win. White added two assists. Niko Dimitrakos scored for the Sharks.

Islanders 3, Rangers 2

NEW YORK – Miroslav Satan beat Henrik Lundqvist with a wrist shot in a shootout to give the New York Islanders a 3-2 victory over the Rangers,, their first win in the local rivalry in 11 games. Satan, who had a goal in regulation, was the only shooter to score in the shootout, the first of the season for both teams.

Blues 3, Mighty Ducks 2

ST. LOUIS – Eric Brewer scored with 56 seconds left in regulation Wednesday night to give the St. Louis Blues a 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

The game appeared headed for overtime when the Mighty Ducks’ Teemu Selanne scored a power-play goal at 18:44 to tie the game 2-2. But Brewer beat Anaheim’s Ilya Bryzgalov.

Kings 5, Avalanche 4

DENVER- Craig Conroy scored the winning goal with 58 seconds left to lift Los Angeles as Colorado blew a three-goal lead for the second time in a week.
