NEW YORK (AP) – A pair of three-month-old twins died of unknown causes Thursday in their Brooklyn home, police said.

An investigation was planned but police officials said they had no immediate reason to believe that foul play was involved.

The two boys were identified by police as Ises and Moorfiyah Mathurin.

Police said the children were home with their mother and at least one other older sibling when the mother called 911 around noon to report that her babies were unconscious, police said.

The city’s medical examiner planned an autopsy. Police said they had ruled out that the children died of carbon monoxide poisoning but had little other information about a possible cause of death.
