CLINTON, N.Y. – Justin Smith threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score to lead Colby to a 34-20 win over Hamilton Saturday.

Smith completed 17 of 24 passes for 237 yards with two interceptions. His 52-yard TD run came late in the fourth quarter.

Colby (4-1, 4-1 New England Small College Athletic) went up 20-0 on two TD catches by Michael Tomich and another by Brennan Moore.

But Hamilton (1-4, 1-4) made it 20-13 at halftime with two defensive scores. Taylor Soobitsky returned a fumble 12 yards and Trevor Pedrick returned an interception 56 yards.

The Mules responded by opening the second half with a 35-yard TD run by Chris Bashaw. Jon Vacca led Colby with nine catches for 104 yards. Tomich finished with 101 receiving yards.

Dan Hood ran 44 yards for a score and was 18-of-37 for 165 yards for the Continentals.
