LEWISTON – Joanne Lavoie Lebel will be the featured speaker at the Tuesday, Nov. 1, meeting of La Survivance Franaise to be held at 6 p.m. at the Multi-Purpose Center.

Lebel is a retired elementary school teacher and administrator in the Lewiston school system. She served as principal for 11 years at Frye, Martel and Farwell schools.

Lebel is a Franco-American, born and raised in Lewiston. She is married to attorney Ron Lebel and they have a golden retriever named Abby. Lebel is serving on the Maine Board of Bar Examiners. One of her favorite hobbies is researching her family tree. She enjoys gardening as well.

Lebel is a capital campaign team leader for the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society and vice president for its board of directors. She will speak about the capital campaign to build a new animal shelter in Lewiston.

Tickets for the Dec. 4 Christmas banquet featuring Franco-American singer Jose Vachon will be available. Lorraine Ouellette will provide entertainment on her accordion during the snack. Ccile Anctil will serve as hostess.
