EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) – Ales Hemsky scored twice and the Edmonton Oilers won their third straight game, 5-1 over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.

Todd Harvey and Raffi Torres also scored for Edmonton. Ryan Smyth and Hemsky scored on the power play in the second period, and defenseman Chris Pronger added two assists.

Rostislav Klesla scored for Columbus, which lost its fifth straight road game and slipped to 1-8-0 overall in Edmonton.

Harvey scored his first goal for Edmonton in the first period, and George Laraque earned his 100th NHL point with an assist following some nifty stick work behind the net.

Hemsky wristed a shot past Marc Denis at 2:55 of the second period on a power play. His second goal of the season, with former Oilers player Todd Marchant in the penalty box for hooking, came moments after being caught with an errant high stick.

Smyth’s power-play goal came at 17:41, after he got the puck around a sprawling Adam Foote.

Torres’ team-leading eighth goal made it 4-1 in the third, and Hemsky, who has eight points in his last three games, tapped in his second goal 41 seconds later.

Klesla scored for Columbus in the first period, in his first regular-season game this season after coming back from a stress fracture in his right leg.

Edmonton center Mike Peca sustained a mild concussion after he was hit by Rick Nash elbow in the first period. Nash was playing just his second game of the season after sustaining a high ankle sprain in training camp.

Notes: Oilers center Shawn Horcoff limped off after taking a Duvie Westcott shot off the ankle in the third period. … The Oilers now play a season-high seven road games in a span of 12 days, starting Thursday in Detroit. The long road trip is due to the Canadian Finals Rodeo, Nov. 9-13 at Rexall Place … The teams meet again Nov. 11 in Columbus . … The crowd of 16,839 was the Oilers’ sixth sellout of the season.
