BETHEL – The Oxford County Democrats will meet on Thursday, Nov. 17, at Telstar Regional High School for a potluck supper and business meeting. The supper will start at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. All towns are asked to send representatives to begin planning for the Feb. 26 caucus meetings.

Mike Broderick of Bethel is chairing the Maine Democratic Party Platform Committee and will give an update to the county Democrats. Sen. Bruce Bryant and Rep. John Patrick will provide a legislative update, and County Chairwoman Cathy Newell will present a report on the activities of the county committee during the summer and fall.

The county Democrats were represented at the Oxford Hills Showcase on Oct. 28 and 29, with Roy Gedat, Terry Hayes and Marge Medd attending the networking breakfast, and Nancy Willard, Sallie Nealand, Miriam Laster and Cathy Newell staffing the booth.

During the season of festivals and fairs, the committee was represented at events in West Paris, Andover, Bethel, Buckfield, Rumford, South Paris, Oxford, Fryeburg, Newry and Dixfield.

River Valley Area Democrats will host a holiday party and supper on Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Eagles Hall. Congressman Mike Michaud has been invited. Details of the event will be announced in late November.
