Celebration

BETHEL – The Bethel Historical Society will celebrate Newry’s 200th anniversary of incorporation on June 15, 1805, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Dr. Moses Mason House Meeting Room.

Earlier this year, during the town of Newry’s celebration, the society opened an exhibit in its Robinson House, providing insights into the community’s history.

There will be a slide show with views of Newry people, buildings and vistas. Following A panel of six to eight people with Newry ties will discuss their memories and observations.

Anyone with Newry connections is invited to attend and bring photos and other memorabilia.

Society meeting

DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in the charter meeting room. Peter Stowell will continue his presentation on local Indian lore and, if time permits, will talk about the George Merrill Mill. Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited.
