LEWISTON – Donna Sawyer, principal of St. Peter and Sacred Heart School in Auburn, will be the guest speaker following the breakfast meeting at 8 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, in the Dominican Conference Room. Her topic will be “Catholic Education, Beacon of Hope.”

Sawyer has been a school administrator for 23 years in four school systems. Her experiences vary from a small city school of 150 students to a rural school of 300. Her fondest memories are of setting up a gifted and talented program in drama, starting a musical instrument program creating a 50-piece band and helping marginal teachers become better teachers.

Sawyer has earned bachelor of science and master of education degrees from the University of Maine in Orono.

She is enrolled in another master’s program to become a counselor of children.

During her undergraduate program, Sawyer was active on campus and a member of the All Maine Women. She is a trumpet player and performs in churches.
