Taize service

LEWISTON – A Taize service, patterned after those held at the Taize community in France, will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at Trinity Episcopal Church. The contemplative, ecumenical service offers a peaceful hour. All are welcome.

Trinity holds weekly 9 a.m. Sunday services. The Taize service is held monthly and the next service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18. Trinity is located at 247 Bates St. For more information, call 782-5700 and ask for the Rev. Larney Otis or Regina Knox.

Need piano player

MONMOUTH – The Monmouth Community Players are looking for a piano player for their spring production of Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods.” It is s complicated show that an accomplished piano player would find entertaining.

Show dates are March 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26. Auditions are in December and rehearsals will start after the new year. Anyone interested should contact Mike French at 465-2815 or mike@monmouthcommunityplayers.org.

Students named

LISBON FALLS – Lisbon High School classmates Soleil Mathieu and Elijah Trefts, both of Lisbon, were nominated for the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award. Students are nominated on grade point average, civic involvement, sports and club memberships.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Nov. 15 were: first, Roger Briggs and Luke Merry; second, Jeanine Kivus and Fred Letourneau; third, Mary Leahey and Claire Lyons; first in B, Cynthia and Bim Clifford; second in B, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner.

Winners at Schooner Estates in Auburn on Nov. 16 were: first, Rosemarie Goodwin and Misha Tomic; second, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; third, Mary Leahey and Anna Vitiello; fourth, Paul Barber and Luke Merry; first in B, Claire Lyons and Roger Briggs; second in B, Tom Dahlberg and David Wallace.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Tuesdays and 7 p.m. Wednesdays and a partner is guaranteed for all games. Call Rosemarie at 783-1734 for more information. No game will be played on Wednesday, Nov. 23, Thanksgiving Eve.
