Holiday service
MADRID – The fourth annual Thanksgiving service at Reed’s Mill Church will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, at the church on Reeds Mill Road.

Village fair
MT. VERNON – Christmas in the Village holiday craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Mt. Vernon Community Center and Masonic Hall. The fair will feature handmade crafts, maple products, jewelry, music and food.
Medicare forum
KINGFIELD – Mt. Abram Regional Health Center and SeniorsPlus will sponsor a forum dealing with the new prescription drug coverage program from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Webster Hall.
Titled “Making Sense of the New Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage,” the session is aimed at seniors and their friends, family members and caregivers.
Others interested in learning about Medicare D and resources available to assist with making informed decisions are also welcome.
Specific issues to be addressed include a description of the new drug coverage program, selection of individually appropriate plans and the enrollment process.
The session will be led by a Medicare Prescription drug specialist with SeniorsPlus. The plan’s effective date is Jan. 1.

Calendars ready
STRATTON – The Dead River Area Historical Society’s pictorial calendars are available. They can be found at Pine’s Market, Northland Cash and Fotter’s Market or they may be purchased through the mail for $6 plus $1.30 for postage for each calendar.
