NEW YORK (AP) – A 37-year-old woman was arrested Sunday in a fatal stabbing on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, police said.

Officers responding to a report of a dispute at an apartment on East 89th Street shortly before 1 p.m. found a 57-year-old man with numerous stab wounds to his torso, police said.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken to a Manhattan hospital and pronounced dead at about 1:45 p.m.

Police were trying to determine the woman’s relationship to the man, Detective Walter Burnes said. Charges against her were pending.
