ORLANDO, Fla. – Jameer Nelson scored a season-high 24 points and Dwight Howard added 21 points and 18 rebounds as the Orlando Magic beat the Portland Trail Blazers 104-89.

Steve Francis added 12 points and nine assists for the Magic, who matched their season-high winning streak at two games.

Darius Miles led Portland with 23 points and point guard Sebastian Telfair added 20 points and eight assists. Joel Przybilla had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who have lost four of five.

The Magic started the second quarter with a 21-4 run to erase an eight-point deficit and take a 48-39 lead. Nelson led the rally with 10 points, while Kelvin Cato came off the bench and added seven rebounds.

Portland closed the gap to 56-53 by halftime and Telfair’s driving layup to start the second half cut it to one.

Hedo Turkoglu made one of his three 3-pointers to get the Magic going again and Orlando closed out the third period with an 81-69 lead. The Magic pushed the lead to as many as 16 points in the fourth quarter behind Nelson, who was 11-of-16 from the field.

Notes: Portland scored 35 points in the first quarter, its best quarter all season and the most against the Magic in the first period this season. … Magic G Keyon Dooling left the game with 7:46 left in the second period with a heel injury. He did not return. … The Magic activated Stacey Augmon for the first time this season. Augmon missed the first 10 games with a hernia injury. … Portland is in the middle of a seven-game road trip. The Trail Blazers are 1-3 thus far. … Magic F Turkoglu had a streak of 21 straight free throws end when he missed a technical early in the fourth quarter.
