PEAKS ISLAND – The wedding of Rebecca Skolfield Salman and Shawn William Casey was held at 2:45 p.m. on Sept. 3. The Rev Elizabeth Barnard Stookey, family friend, officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Casey is the daughter of Ronald B. Salman of Sedgwick and Virginia Hughes of Auburn. Mr. Casey is the son of Dr. Marjorie Ellen Howe of Norway.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a strapless gown with red beading and carried a bouquet of white lilies with red orchid accents.

Matrons of honor were Vanessa Cayatle Perrin, Katherine Stookey Boit and Jennifer L. Bowen, PhD., friends, and bridesmaids were Susan Linton Martinovich, Sherri Klaff Gutierrez, Jill Callahan Hepbunn and Wendy Sexton. Flower girls were Luna Lyman and Virginia Isabelle Salman, nieces.

Serving as best man was Richard “Eric” Meffert III, friend, and ushers were Michael Canon Jr., friend, and George Phillip, John Harrington, Chris Conlon, Tristan Salman, Aaron Lyman and Forrest Lyman.

A reception followed at the Harborview at Jones Landing at Peaks Island, after which the couple traveled to Hawaii. They are residing in Falmouth.

The bride received a master’s degree in architecture from Tulane University and is employed as home planning centers coordinator at Hancock Lumber.

The bridegroom is a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono and is president of Western Maine Mortgage.
