BETHEL – A woman was reported in good condition at Central Maine Medical Center following an early morning accident on the North Road.
The state trooper in charge of the accident was not available Tuesday afternoon to provide details.
However, Bethel Police Chief Alan Carr said the car was in flames when one of his officers pulled the woman away from the vehicle. He estimated the time at about 3 a.m.
She was transported to the Bethel Airport by the Bethel Ambulance Service where she was flown by helicopter to the Lewiston hospital.
Carr said the vehicle was destroyed beyond recognition. The woman was apparently driving south on the North Road when the accident occurred, said Carr.
