WHISTLER, British Columbia (AP) – Japan’s Kazuhiro Kokubo won the halfpipe competition at a World Cup snowboard event Saturday.

Kokubo had a score of 43.5 and finished ahead of Germany’s Vinzenz Lueps (39.3) and Canada’s Brad Martin (37)

Japan swept the women’s competition. Shiho Nakashima topped the field with 40.7 points, and finished ahead of Naho Mizuki (35.8) and Yayoi Tamura (34.5).
