LOWELL, Mass. (AP) – Goalie Gregg Naumenko stopped Pavel Brendl in the seventh round of the shootout to give the Portland Pirates a 4-3 win over the Lowell Lock Monsters on Saturday night.

Lowell goalie Tom Lawson, who made 39 saves, stopped Corey Perry’s breakaway opportunity in the final seconds of overtime to send the game to the shootout.

A short-handed goal by Curtis Glencross, a power-play goal by Shane O’Brien and an even-strength goal by Aaron Gavey in the span of 3:14 in the first period gave Portland a 3-1 lead. Kevin Estrada scored for Lowell.

Keith Aucoin scored on a feed from Brendl at 19:25 of the second period.

and re-directed a centering pass from defenseman Tomas Slovak to tie the game at 11:33 of the third period.

Nathan Marsters started in goal for Portland, but left the game at 15:33 of the first period after being struck in the mask by a puck. Naumenko stopped 30 of 32 shots he faced.

Ryan Getzlaf had two assists for the Pirates.
