MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – St. Louis Rams running back Marshall Faulk became the NFL’s career leader in receiving yards by a running back on Sunday.

Faulk had four catches for 32 yards in the Rams’ 27-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, moving him past Larry Centers. He has 6,801 yards receiving in his 12-year career, four yards more than Centers.

Faulk broke the record on the Rams’ final drive when he caught a 7-yard pass from rookie quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

One of the most versatile and skilled running backs in NFL history, it has been a difficult season for Faulk, who declined interview requests after the game.

He has rushed 35 times for 175 yards and has 30 receptions for 217 yards this season in spelling second-year pro Steven Jackson for the Rams (5-8), who lost for the fourth time in five games to slide out of playoff contention.

Receivers Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt also reached milestones on Sunday.

Bruce moved past Hall of Famer Charlie Joiner for 10th place in NFL history with 12,181 yards and caught his 800th career pass.

Holt caught pass No. 600 and now has 602 receptions in his career, pushing him ahead of Henry Ellard for second on the franchise’s career catches list.
