NEW YORK – Norries Wilson, the offensive coordinator at Connecticut, is the new football coach at Columbia.

He replaces Bob Shoop, who was fired on Nov. 20, a day after a 52-21 loss to Brown left the Lions with a winless Ivy League season and a 2-8 record. Shoop finished 7-23 in three seasons.

The 40-year-old Wilson will be introduced at a news conference today.
