TORONTO – Tomas Kaberle and Alex Steen scored power-play goals, and the Toronto Maple Leafs ended a three-game skid with a 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

Kyle Wellwood also scored for the Maple Leafs, whose dominant power play struggled in recent games as they lost four of five before playing Anaheim.

Toronto went 2-for-6 with the man advantage, compared to 0-for-8 for Anaheim.

The Maple Leafs won despite missing goalie Ed Belfour and center Eric Lindros. The club said Belfour has a lower body injury and Lindros an upper body injury.

Rob Niedermayer and Teemu Selanne scored for the Mighty Ducks, who haven’t won in Toronto in more than six years. The Mighty Ducks are 2-14 in their history in Toronto, and they didn’t get off to a good start Monday night.

Defenseman Keith Carney tried to clear the puck from behind his net, but Wellwood intercepted the pass in front and scored at 8:57 of the first.

Niedermayer’s wrist shot went through backup goalie Mikael Tellqvist’s legs at 16:31 of the first.

But the Maple Leafs scored twice on the power play in the second. Kaberle’s shot from the point gave Toronto a 2-1 lead at 3:03 of the second, and Steen’s wrist shot after a rebound made it 3-1 at 16:31.

Anaheim’s Andy McDonald spun 180 degrees in front before threading a pass to Selanne at the side of the net, and he cut it to 3-2 at 14:50 of the second with his 16th goal.

Tellqvist made 27 saves in his first game since Dec. 1, when he earned his first career shutout in a win over Atlanta.
