Dear Sun Spots: I was reading the story on the tenant named Lisa Fortier’s family who was being asked to leave her house because of the mall taking over the house. I was wondering how a person would be able to send them money to help the family out for the holidays? And where would they be willing to move to? Well, thanks for the help. – No Name, No Town.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots spoke with Lisa Fortier, who says she and her children would really just like a place to call home. They’d be happy to celebrate Christmas at another time, but having a roof over their heads is their priority as a family. They’ve also been touched by the many calls received, and Sun Spots, who received several calls and inquiries, has forwarded them to her. In the meantime, those wishing to contribute to the Fortier Housing Relief Fund can send or drop them off at Community Credit Union, 40 Stanley St., Auburn, ME 04210 or 144 Pine St., Lewiston, ME 04243.

• Readers responding to the inquiry in Tuesday’s column for volunteers should please note Sun Spots misunderstood the request. The group of brain injury survivors is looking for places where they can give their educational presentation. Anyone with a space or site available can invite the group, which will bring its message on brain injury prevention and awareness. Please contact Deb Hanmer at WestSide Neuro-Rehab at (207)795-6110 for more information.

Dear Sun Spots: I have a new puppy, and I am looking for puppy training classes in the Lewiston area. I also need to know how old the puppy should be before starting training, and a bunch of other puppy questions for an expert. – Lucy Bisson, Lewiston.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots would encourage you to check out the Association for Pet Dog Trainers online at www.apdt.com, which gives a listing of trainers throughout Maine. Among them is Sheila Wetherbee of New Gloucester, at (207) 838-6810. You might want to also check out her Web site, www.connemarajacks.com, for the 10 facts every puppy owner should know, including the fact that your puppy must be socialized to people before it is 3 months old. The site also notes that a puppy needs to be enrolled in puppy class before it is 18 weeks old.
