TURNER – In a battle of remaining unbeaten teams Sunday, Liberty Mutual moved into sole possession of first place in the Leavitt Area Men’s Basketball League with an 83-64 victory over Ranor. Scott Bessey led Liberty with 19 points. Shawn Spadea added 15. Ranor was paced by Chris Parker (15), Aaron St. Pierre (14) and Josh Wilcox (14).
There is now a 3-way tie for second. Ben Alpren Machine is one of those clubs after beating Shooters. Lance Poland led with 32. Taylor Caron netted 21 for Shooters.
Also tied with Ranor and Ben Alpren is Fitness World who knocked off St. Hillaire Contractors 112-80. Sparking the winners were Josh Berrard (26) and Kevin Beck (19). Jake St. Hillaire tossed in 22 for the Contractors. Jeremy Richardson and Jeremiah Jones added 19 apiece.
Lloyd’s Land entered the win column for the first time, defeating Emerson Toyota 120-88. Eric Enrite poured in 41 for the winners. Derek Lovely added 35. Matt Winslow (23) and Fred Diligent (18) paced Emerson.

Winter camp is planned
AUBURN – The 9th annual Winter Basketball Camp sponsored by the Central Maine Community College Athletic Department is scheduled for next week. Eligible are boys and girls ages 7-13.
The camp runs from December 27-30. Times are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Cost is $150 per child, or two family members for $225. Fee includes lunch and a camp T-shirt. The camp will be instructed by the CMCC coaching staff and players and former stars.
The four-day session will consist of skills and drills, team contests, individual contests and games.

Men’s tourney slated
WOODSVILLE, N.H. – The 66th annual Northern Amateur Lions Men’s Basketball Tournament is scheduled for Feb. 21-22 and 24-25 at the Woodsville Community Building.
