MEXICO – The Mexico Public Library recently received a grant from the Libri Foundation for children’s books.

The foundation, based in Eugene, Ore., is a nationwide nonprofit organization that donates new, quality, hardcover books to small rural public libraries in the United States through its Books for Children program.

Since the foundation was established in 1989, it has donated more than $2,300,000 in new children’s books to more than 2,000 libraries in 48 states.

With the grant, Mexico Public Library received a total of 56 books. The donation has enhanced the children’s section of the library, offering many selections for use in the library’s Story Hour programs and future summer reading programs. The books are available for children and their families to check out and read at home.
