FARMINGTON – Little Ann is the pet of the week. She came to the Franklin County Animal Shelter as a stray with her brother, Little Dan.

They were named after the two red bone coonhounds in “Where the Red Fern Grows.” Little Dan was recently adopted and now Ann is searching for a new home.

She loves to play with other dogs and with cats. Staff said she also loves to prance about the cat rooms and plays with stuffed toys and any willing little kitty. She is only 4 months old and for being so young, she is quite calm.

Ann would do well with children and anyone who would give her a belly rub. She does know one trick and it is the most common, sit, but she is learning while at the shelter.

New dogs at the shelter: male beagle from Livermore Falls; male golden Labrador retriever/shepherd mix from Strong; female brown and white mix from Weld; female black and white mix from Weld; male black lab mix from Industry; male black lab mix form New Portland; and female cocker spaniel mix from Wilton.
