Seniors meeting

OXFORD – The Lake Thompson Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Market Square Restaurant, South Paris. Dinner will be chosen from the menu.

Members will play bingo after the dinner and meeting. New members and guests are welcome.

Grange to meet

WEST PARIS – West Paris Grange 298 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the West Paris Baptist Church.

Guest minister

PARIS – The Rev. Kate Braestrup will be the guest minister at the West Paris Universalist Unitarian Church on Sunday, Jan. 22.

Braestrup completed her studies at Bangor Theological Seminary, spent a year as a part-time minister for a congregation in Pittsfield, then became chaplain for the Maine State Warden Service. She filled the pulpit several times during the fall.

Jim Burke, organist, will provide music. Services will begin at 9 a.m. with coffee hour and fellowship to follow. Everyone is welcome.

Valentine dance

PARIS – The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club Valentine Dance will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Oxford Hills Middle School, Pine Street, South Paris.

Kip Moulton will call for the square dancing and Linda Moulton will cue the round dancing. Refreshments will be served at intermission. Nondancers are welcome.

Center open

BRYANT POND – The New England Cultural Center, 70 South Main St., is open for the winter. Collections include prints of such New England fixtures as lighthouses and covered bridges, waterfalls, deer and farms. There are also items on royalty.

Group on hiatus

WEST PARIS – The West Paris Senior Citizens are on winter vacation and will resume monthly meetings on April 4.
