Sunday service

NORWAY – The Sunday service for Jan. 22 at the First Universalist Church, Norway, Unitarian Universalist, 479 Main St., will be at 11 a.m. Child care will be provided as well as a religious education program for children.

Choir practice will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday with Heather Pierson, music director. Those who would like to sing are invited to participate in the choir.

The service will be led by the Rev Kate Braestrup, a frequent visitor at the church. She is chaplain to the Maine Warden Service and lives in Thomaston. All are invited.

Supper site

PARIS – A benefit smorgasbord supper for Mr. and Mrs. Walter Connell, owners of Connell’s Auto Collection and Recycling, will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the American Legion Post 72, Church Street, South Paris. A previous item indicated it would be held in Harrison.

Their garage and possessions were lost in a fire on Jan. 5 and they had no insurance. Anyone who would like to donate a dish should call Marilyn Ramsay at 743-5723.

School news

WEST PARIS – A Fun and Games Night will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Agnes L. Gray School gym. It is fun for the whole family and is sponsored by the West Paris Parent Teacher Organization.

The PTO Club is looking for community members willing to share their talents for singing, playing instruments, telling jokes, performing skits and doing monologues for the school’s March 24 Talent Show. Those interested in helping are asked to contact the school at 674-2332.

There will be no school on Friday, Jan. 27, because of a staff development workshop.
