AUBURN – Irene Duplissis is the featured artist at Auburn Savings during January and February.

Duplissis, who was born in Washington, D.C., and educated in Lewiston, began her art studies under the tutelage of local French nuns. She has been painting professionally for many years and has taught art locally.

She describes her style of transparent watercolor as “rustic realism” and focuses on subjects that depict the character and capture the universal appeal of the New England landscape.

Duplissis, who has a studio gallery in Auburn, has won many best of show and first place awards in art shows throughout Maine and New Hampshire, and her work can be found in various galleries and private collections throughout the United States and abroad.

Some of her original watercolors will be on display in the lobby of both locations of Auburn Savings, 256 Court St., and 325 Sabattus St., Lewiston. The public is welcome.
