SALEM – Jordon Norton nailed a 10-foot running jumper with three seconds remaining in the second overtime period to lift Mt. Abram to a 63-61 victory over Madison in MVC boys’ basketball.

Mt. Abram led by five at the half, had that lead cut to a precious two points in the third, then allowed Madison to tie it up in the fourth to force overtime.

Tyson Chase chipped in for the Roadrunners (6-6) with 20 points and 16 rebounds in a well-balanced attack.

Tom Stuber scored 18 points to lead the Bulldogs (2-10).

Boothbay 60, Winthrop 46

BOOTHBAY – Pat Norton poured in 15 points and pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds to lead Boothbay to a 60-46 victory over Winthrop in game featuring the top two teams in Western Class C.

Boothbay held a 25-20 advantage after two quarters of play, then went on a 22-14 run in the third frame to pull away for the win.

Matt Sceviour and Roy Arsenault chipped in for the Seahawks (10-1) with 13 points each, while Kris Noonan added 11.

Mike Gingras led the Ramblers (9-2) with 14 points, while Tyler Smithgall tallied 12.

Hall-Dale 63, Monmouth 53

MONMOUTH – Eric Gagne drained a game-high 25 points to propel Hall-Dale to a 63-53 victory over Monmouth.

Hall-Dale held a slim three-point lead after the third quarter, then went on a 23-16 run in the fourth to record the win.

Jay Skillings chipped in for the Bulldogs (4-8) with 12 points, while James Henderson added 10.

Ben Seefeldt led the Mustangs (0-12) with 15 points, while Dylan Reny tallied 10.

Girls’ basketball
Dirigo 37, Telstar 35

BETHEL – Michelle Holmquist netted nine points Thursday evening as Dirigo edged Telstar 37-35.

Dirigo held a 10-point advantage at the halftime break, then hung on to win despite Telstar’s 13-6 run in the third quarter.

Holly Knight chipped in for the Cougars (9-2) with eight points, while Abby Fenstermacher and Katherine Gagne added six each.

Kelsey Dole led the Rebels (9-3) with a game-high 13 points and eight rebounds, while Bailey Davis added 12.

Madison 46, Mt. Abram 15

MADISON – Margo Russell poured in 14 points, hauled down seven rebounds and blocked five shots to lead Madison to a 46-15 rout over Mt. Abram.

The Roadrunners were limited to five points in the second half.

Briann Emery chipped in for the Bulldogs (6-5) with 10 points.

Emily Stinchfield led the Roadrunners (6-6) with five points, while Janessa Thomas added four.

Hockey
Edward Little 12, Skowhegan 1

WINSLOW – Nick Merrill led a group of four players with two goals each as Edward Little skated to a 12-1 romp over Skowhegan.

Kevin Smith, Corey Larue and Cam Robichaud also recorded two goals for the Red Eddies (3-8) in a well-balanced attack. Cory Vinette, Matt Loudermilk and Sean Hurd also tallied to complete the scoring. Greg St. Dennis made 13 saves.

Jacob Tracy netted the lone goal goal for the Indians (1-7).

, while Jared Johnson turned aside 37 shots in net.
