BETHEL – Telstar senior guard Sean Caddigan battled Madison’s Tom Steuber for most points scored as the Rebels engineered a 78-64 victory over the Bulldogs in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday evening.

Steuber notched a game-high 35 points for the Bulldogs, while pulling most of the load for Madison.

Junior guard Ryan Kimball tallied 19 points and eight rebounds for the Rebels (9-5), while Caddigan posted a team-leading 33 points and hauled down eight rebounds.

Boothbay 68, Mt. Abram 50

SALEM – Kevin Noonan poured in 22 points to lead Boothbay to a 68-50 victory in MVC action on Friday night.

The Seahawks pulled away in the fourth quarter, doubling up the Roadrunners 28-14 in the fourth quarter on 20-for-30 shooting from the foul line. Pat Norton picked up 10 of his 16 points at the charity stripe, and Roy Arsenault added 13 points for Boothbay (13-2).

Jordan Norton led Mt. Abram with 19 points. Nate Blake scored seven points and dished out nine assists, and Tyson Chase crashed the boards to grab 10 rebounds.

Lisbon 55, Carrabec 32

NORTH ANSON – Levi Ervin scored 15 points to go with 11 rebounds and six steals to power Lisbon past Carrabec, 55-32, in MVC action.

Mike Wilkins led the Greyhounds (10-4) with 17 points, and Evan Manical and Brendan McGiveny each added six points.

Luke Ellis had 10 points for the Cobras (2-11), and Brandon Coutts chipped in with seven.

Yarmouth 31, G-NG 30

GRAY – Luke Stevens drained one of two free throws to clinch Yarmouth’s first win of the season, a 31-30 nail-biter over Gray-New Gloucester on Friday.

Joe Dilworth and Bryan Ertz each scored 10 points for the Clippers (1-13).

Matt Robertson dropped in three 3-pointers for nine points to lead the Patriots (4-10). Tyler Blanchard and Josh Levasseur each netted six.

Hebron 64, Berwick 47

HEBRON – Mike Barrow scored 19 points to lead Hebron to a 64-47 victory over Berwick in prep school action.

Terrence Chatmon chipped in with 18 points, and Steve Ramos contributed 17 for Hebron (8-8). Jon Fagin did his part with 17 points for Berwick.

Georges Valley 50, Jay 42

JAY – Georges Valley took command in the second quarter by limiting Jay to five points en route to a 50-42 triumph over the Tigers.

Jay (2-12) led 13-12 after the first quarter. The Bucs stepped up the defensive pressure and outscored the hosts 13-5 in the decisive second quarter.

Elias Edwards scored 13 points and Nate Friebee added 12 to pace Georges Valley (6-6). Brad Loon scored 14 points and hauled down 12 boards for Jay. Mike Desanctis added nine points.

Mountain Valley 84, Wiscasset 35

RUMFORD – Junior forward Andy Shorey scored a dazzling 23 points to go along with his eight rebounds and seven steals as Mountain Valley crushed Wiscasset 84-35 in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Falcons (14-0) received fine offensive support from senior guards Bryon Glaus and Jeremy Childs, scoring 14 points apiece. Junior point guard D.J. Gerrish chipped in with six points and seven assists. Mountain Valley jumped out to a 12-0 lead before the Indians were able to score a single point. Senior guard Matt Hinkley scored 17 points for Wiscasset.

Hockey

Hebron 3, Berwick 2

HEBRON – Jordan Krusch and Kyle Tobin scored third-period goals within one minute of each other as Hebron skated past Berwick 3-2 in prep hockey action.

Krusch also notched an assist in the game, and Sasha Romanenko had a goal and an assist for Hebron (16-6-2).

Justin Richards and Matt Levanagie each scored for Berwick. Jon Glant stopped 29 shots for the win between the pipes for Hebron.

John Hay took the loss for Berwick despite 32 saves.
